It blows my mind that she was like 23-ish when she filmed it, so young

I regularly work 70+ hours a week but it’s just because I like the money

Not sure if that alone makes me a workaholic...I guess I always thought of them as people who loved their jobs, but now that I think about it a bit more it could be for other reasons like it makes them feel important to work a lot or they are avoiding their home life

my friend's dad is a workaholic. he doesn't love his job and he's really into the family, but he feels compelled to work non-stop even when his kids/wife ask him to take a break. he brings his computer on vacations and volunteers for extra stuff when he doesn't need to, etc. he grew up poor and had to work from a young age if he wanted new clothes and stuff like that, so I think it's ingrained into him that if you have the free time you do something "productive," even at the expense of relationships and other areas of your life.

that sounds so similar to my mom. although she loves her work, there are times (like when she's sick) that she just feels compelled to work because she has to be "productive".

I have no work life because I am unemployed.
But honestly I've never really done anything where I felt really passionate about anything

work is all i have going for me right now (sad, i know), but i'm technically not allowed to work over 40 hours, so i don't. otherwise, i'd probs be at work all the time.
