I super appreciate all the women coming out to say "Though he never personally propositioned me, the behavior I witnessed from him makes it not at all hard to believe that he did that to other women who were in less powerful positions."

So we should just cater to what you think is right or wrong? Sorry sweetheart, it doesn't work like that.

Be Kind Rewind just did a video on Nicole Kidman’s win and the level of shitty Weinstein was to everyone and got away with it is so fucking appalling.

I just watched a bunch of her videos today! It's crazy how his aggressive behavior was known but everyone just kind of shrugged it off, also that clip where he grabs Nicole is 🤮

Her videos are really good. Her video critiquing the Judy Garland biopic is fantastic.

I mean... if someone is partying too hard, it seems like it would make sense for their employer to sit them down for a lecture. Weinstein is still scum though, don't get me wrong.

Yeah that thought came to my head. It kinda reminded of when Lindsay Lohan got that letter from the studio boss(?) about her late-night partying and showing up late to set while she was filming Georgia Rule.

Although Weinstein is not the person for this.

she wasnt tho? her personal life was messy, but she was never coked out and unable to work, especially compared to other mid-2000s starlets

um no it doesn't, lmao. your employer should stay out of your non-work life unless it's going to genuinely affect your work, and even then they should focus on needing your work to improve unless it's like genuinely offensive behavior.

I really liked her in The Lost City of Z though she's now unfortunately relegated to wife/mom roles.

i'm glad she caught herself with that "i would have slapped him" comment because you just do not know how you would ever react in a situation like that and those kind of "i'm so strong" statements often degrade actual victims

I just wrote the same thing.

I know most of the time it's not meant to mean anything derogatory towards victims, it's a way someone protects themselves from thinking that they could potentially be a victim.

its so hard and i completely get it, you want to think that's how it'd go - a slap or a kick to the balls and a triumphant walk away, but god it's not like that for some women
