His Dark Materials premieres Monday, November 4 on HBO. It stars Dafne Keen as Lyra, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Ruth Wilson as Mrs Coulter, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby.

I hope this does more justice to the book than the movie!

television - hbo, lin-manuel miranda / hamilton, adaptations, books / authors, james mcavoy

Dafne Keen looks so much like Evan Peters to me - I notice it every time I see a trailer for this show.

I see this is labeled Season 1. Are they doing a season per book?

I believe so! They already cast Will and started shooting S2 so Dafne doesn't age too much.

please be good, please be good, please be good...

I don't know if a book series made my cry as much as HDM did.

I spent the second half of Amber Spyglass sobbing. It was ridiculous. I was fucking wrecked.

I am excited! Glad to know a date finally.

Honestly all I ask for is that the scene in my icon (which was in TRAILERS dammit) happens. I am forever bitter that they fucking filmed it and then just cut it and held the footage hostage forever. Like I was most excited for that.

ugh, your icon. they were the PERFECT lord asriel and mrs. coulter. it's a goddamn shame we never got to see that ending or what they could've done with the characters in the rest of the series.

This first aired on BBC right? And this is the American/Canadian premiere? Anyway, I’m stoked!

It’s already aired? I thought it was airing simultaneously in the UK and US
