these lies. the only value vh1 has added to the culture, besides ms. pollard, was THE GREATEST reality show of all time aka the surreal life.

fuck i loved pop up video.

i loved all the jokes and behind the scenes trivia. even those weird moments where they would link something in the song to some loosely affiliated fact so you'd learn some piece of 17th century trivia or the history of the wooden spoon or some shit.

Watching those "can teens guess 80s music" videos on the react channel made me realize all my 80s music knowledge came from VH1 lol. Not just I Love but they also would have random music countdowns, I remember a hard rock one.

same!

Did you watch those countdown vids of the best rock songs or best rnb songs. They would be 100 songs long and they would have a host and would do 20 per hour

as a 90s bb, the 80s and 70s series were so entertaining and the talking heads were fucking hilarious.

they need to redo the 90s bc it felt so rushed and forced.

We were too close to the 90s to do it justice

I loved every single version of this series so much.

I should rewatch them all again but Patrice O'Neal & Donal Logue were my faves.

Sometimes I'll see Orca on cable or something and I'll just start laughing hysterically bc of Patrice on I love the 70s.

I always think about Donal Logue doing his imitation of the cycle of cocaine/crack addiction and crack up. I loved him.

One of the reasons I loved this series was seeing celebs gushing about stuff that I love. I remember when Lisa Lisa said, "I live for Juliette Lewis!" in one episode and then I guess in between tapings, they told Juliette Lewis who then freaked out because she loved Lisa Lisa. Then they told Lisa Lisa that Juliette loved her and Lisa Lisa freaked out. It was hilarious!

So much of my pop culture knowledge comes from this series.

right?!

I felt so smug in jr high knowing about the details of the tommy lee and pam anderson sex tape.

E! and true hollywood stories and behind the music was also part of my tv faves
