The true scourge of animal breeding is teacup anything or any animal bred to have short/weird proportions on purpose like munchkin cats. It’s straight up animal cruelty to breed an animal that will be miserable it’s entire life just bc we think they’re cute - see: pugs. Monstrous honestly
Their shortened limbs are due to a natural occurring gene mutation, but they’re bred specifically for the aesthetic and it’s absolutely cruel, they’re at a high risk of osteoarthritis and cannot move like a regular cat. See also Scottish Folds. Their ears flop due to an issue with their cartilage. In the ears? Cute! All their other joints damaged bc their cartilage isn’t up to snuff? Less cute.
Animals aren’t toys. If it’s just an aesthetic, I don’t mind it at all if they’re being bred ethically and with care for the animals. Breeding animals while ignoring the health risks just bc we want them to look extra kawaii? Bad take
I walked so many gd doodles when I was dog walking. The vast majority were extremely chill. I don't want to think about how I'll never be able to afford a pet and will die alone.
A client of mine has a doodle and she’s so cute but she’s an anxious hyper pup. She does parkour off the furniture and has bad separation anxiety. A few weeks ago she stole tomatoes off the counter and hid them around the living room.
Doodles are so cute but the breeding industry is fucked :(
