because her daughter is a "cultural icon."

She truly buys into the Beyhive mindset of her being an untouchable goddess queen who deserves all praise and never does anything wrong, doesn't she?

Yeah, it's weird to see someone refer to their child as such, but they probably have to frame her that way to better their chances in court.

The company had the name first. The owner should be the one allowed to trademark it. The end.

But if they wanna trademark “Blue Ivy Carter” and the company is “Blue Ivy” shouldn’t it not matter? Genuine question, not snark.

If they are truly just trying to trademark "Blue Ivy Carter" and not just "Blue Ivy", there really should be no problem.

Even still, there are plenty of instances where companies have the same name but if you're in sufficiently different businesses that there is little risk of confusion, it also tends to be fine, depends on what the mark (the image of the name) actually looks like.

IDK, I'm not at all beyhive, but it seems to me like this lady is trying to get a bit of a payday.

Payday? Beyoncé wouldn’t owe her money if she wins, she just wouldn’t be able to trade mark blue ivy...... ?

Maybe they meant payday as in Bey's team would settle/ pay off Wendy Morales on the dl to not contest the trademark in the future?

Exactly.

Beyoncé's legal teams claims before specifying that the claim is for 'Blue Ivy Carter' and not just 'Blue Ivy.'"

listen, I'm typically a literate ontder but I can't be bothered right now. Is this basically saying that this was clickbait and they want to trademark her full name versus the term?
