I can't believe they are moving forward with this after the complete mess that was the Fox series.

It seems really too soon.

realistically though the soonest we'd get an mcu x-men movie is like 2023 but something like 2025 is more likely

There are only so many "classic" X stories and they've already done Days of Future Past and Dark Phoenix.

Dark Phoenix really pissed me off! The story in the comics was perfection. They had so. Much. Material. To. Work. With. And they gave us THAT MESS.

There's literally so much they could do with the X-Men, no one wants or needs dark phoenix or days of future past anymore but those aren't the only things that have ever happened in the comics lmao

You could make an entire 3-6 movie series based off of Grant Morrisons New X-Men run ALONE

I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of Magneto not being a Holocaust survivor. That's my only thought. I think that backstory adds a LOT to the character.

I am so far liking this idea of pocs being considered for the roles of Charles and Magneto.

That said what is about Magneto's background being tampered with?

I feel like they could replace his back story with something more recent, maybe like the Armenian Genocide or the Siege of Sarajevo?

Also I read a post today about possibly making the X-Men more European based than NY since it is a bit weird with all the heroes being NY based

The only reason to really do it is to do stretch the life span of the character in the films.

Without tinkering with his background Magneto would be in his late 80's when the MCU gets around to put mutants in films, but having the likes of Ian mcKellan back would probably be prohibitive - he'd break a hip or something as time went on.

And having the likes of Michael Fassbender playing Magneto in the 90's without aging him up was one of the lesser reasons that Dark Phoenix was laughable.
