One thing I loved about Hustlers is that it opened with Janet! I listened to Control the whole way home. But Rhythm Nation has a bunch of great songs, too! My mom didn't listen to a lot of pop music when I was growing up, but she liked Janet, and we'd jam in the car listening to my Design of a Decade cassette.

I had no idea about that school shooting, though, ugh.

yes, but i mean in the things that aren't blatant. the pacing of britney's choreography and closeness to dancers and strength with very specific sensuality is literally janet. era and things like that. i stan them both so i guess its ~deeper for me. its upsetting. janet deserves so much.
