i've been a fan of hers from the beginning, and believe it or not like most of 'love + fear.' having said that, this era has been very confusing to watch unfold in a way that i can't explain.
Yeah.. I have always and will always stan but I feel like she just isn't being authentic this era... like this album was clearly meant to appeal to the GP- which is fine!- but she's acting like this is her ~true self~ and it's ~about the human psyche~ and she's ~SO SECURE in her choices u guys!!~ and I just wish she would be like "yeah I wanted to make a light and fun pop record, not everything I do has to be super deep"

Oh I agree about EH, I mean she worked with Dr. Puke, it was a very obvious attempt at mainstream success. But I feel like she admitted that and was open about being annoyed that the GP wasn't paying attention to her, lol. This era though feels like she's trying to do the same thing, but isn't really owning it? Like there's nothing wrong with being like "pop is fun and tbh I want to chart" but her whole psych-101-I-know-who-I-am-now schtick feels inauthentic to me... like last night at her NY show she said s/t like "I get what my role is now and I'm happy about it!" but like... girl we all know you're mad Baby barely charted in the US
she's so beautiful. i like her a lot as a person and i adore her music.
i always think to myself that it must be so much easier for her to find clothes now that she is a semi-famous person. i think she said once she's like a 28G or something in bra size and I can't imagine how much finding clothes and bras must have sucked as a teen for her. hell, I have a hard time finding clothes and bras that fit as a 30DD.
Man I've been seeing a lot of hate for this era but I'm loving it and the album. She's playing at Central Park tonight but nobody would go with me and tix were kinda pricey
