I always find it weird how at US universities they call anyone who teaches classes a "professor", for a minute there my sense of McConaughey's academic capabilities was way inflated.

The US, and Hogwarts. And we know how well that turned out for the unfortunate wizarding students who learned how to hate each other for wearing different scarves and brew date-rape potions, but not do basic math or find even their own country on a map.

Ironically enough they probably learned more geography having to listen to his tales of travel than during the entire rest of their time at Hogwarts.

1. Did any of y'all get film degrees?

2. If yes, was it grad or undergrad?

3. Do you get to use it professionally?

4. If you wanted to use what you learned professionally, what barriers are you facing to get in the industry?

I ask all this bc I'm considering getting an mfa for screenwriting....

the best advice is to get into a school with a lotttttt of connections. that’s how you ensure a career post grad. a no name school mfa degree won’t do anything.
