VMA Awards hits all time low despite 12-network simulcast

-Year after year the VMAs keep losing viewers despite Viacom adding more channels for the show.

-this year they hit 1.93/0.9 on MTV down from last years 2.25/1.1

-When VH1, Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network, CMT, MTV2, TV Land, MTV Classic, Logo and BETHer are taken into the equation, it brought the ratings up to 4.9 million, still down from last years 5.2 million viewers when it was aired across 10 channels.

-Despite the ratings drop, MTV is toting that the VMAs is doing great digitally with the show up 85% in online views.
