She’s right. Ppl will try to frame it like it’s a women’s choice, too. I hear assholes saying like no women wanna focus more on their family, they don’t want to work longer hours etc... nah buddy, women get offered less work or it’s expected and they’re coerced or guilted into spending time at home.
I've been a fan of Lea since I first watched the BTTF movies and Some Kind of Wonderful in middle school. She's right, although I think a lot of it is general ageism as well
it doesnt help that most actresses are having kids in their 30s and that's the age hollywood starts looking for the next 20 something IT girl to replace her.
meanwhile men at any age can still be the action hero and the leading romantic man till the day they die. nobody is telling them its unrealistic and they can only get "dad" roles.
Yea, men can really come into their careers in their 30s but with women if they haven't by the time they hit their late 20s they can pretty much forget about it ever happening.
