Every tech company does stuff like this, though. Apple, Microsoft, and Google have all done this before, using voice command tech in their products, without asking users first. It starts to be difficult to opt out of any company that could do shady stuff like this.

I have a job where I read weird prompts out for Google for a few bucks and they explained it to me as a voice recognition software but not what its purpose was, its p creepy.

Because ONTD doesn’t read: article says they only transcribed voice conversations that happened through Facebook messenger and only from users that agreed to have their conversations transcribed.

They also go on to deny that they listen in on users for targeted ads but lmao this ain’t gonna help people believe that

i read the post itself and assumed that the whole thing about users agreeing was some kind of bullshit like "oh, it's in our billion word terms of service that y'all agreed to"
