@MoSalah thank you for coming back to check on my boys after Louis KO’d himself trying to get a wave! He loves you so much and the pain went away instantly when you came to give them a hug. A nose reset worth well worth it he said. You are a top man and a true gent! #EgyptianKing pic.twitter.com/wrmHc4vxB9

the Internet turned the photo into a meme.

...that's not funny, tho? We're spreading photos and joking (slash lying) about a child being beaten up?? Has this shitty 'fake news' world warped my sense of humor, or is that actually shitty?

he wasnt beat up. he ran into a lamppost chasing after his car and someone attached that story as a joke like one of those unbelievable internet stories i presume

That's...what I'm saying. That's a weird thing to spread as a joke.

oh sorry i misread ur comment

idk it reminds me of those obviously fake tumblr posts that people used to spread round or the stuff that gets posted on /r/thathappened

its just dry humour about football unless that person was actually trying to pass it off as real. not that unusual in the uk imo

So he ran into a lampost and the internet turned it into him being beat up by opposing fans?

They turned it into a meme. They're not saying that it actually happened that way.

Right?! His bloodied face makes for an interesting story but they could have at least wiped his chin and lip.

I believe that the kid's neighbours were taking him home and Mo Salah caught up with them before they reached the house.

Maybe I'm too old to understand, but aren't memes supposed to be funny?

This is def something shared around by younger Twitter peeps/Gen Z, similar to ppl making jokes about Millie Bobbie Brown being a homophobe. I sound old but I truly don’t understand the humor

Yeah, this screams Gen Z.

mte. I was about to comment something about how I can't believe people are still beating each other up over soccer jerseys in the year 2019 but then I realized that isn't what happened and just...

Poor kid. I hate seeing people get hurt, however it happened. Its not funny

Glad Mo stopped, that was nice!

Just saw this on the news. It was very wholesome.

My wife works with kids in Toronto and one of the kids is a huge fan of Liverpool, and was lamenting how he couldn't get any decent Liverpool gear. She mentioned it in passing to a friend of hers, who works for the club and he sent her some official stuff this week to give to the kid.
