it can range, david nutter said a standard day on game of thrones was a minimum of 10 hours and longer if you have cast in elaborate makeup. actors on the show have regularly spoken about shooting days ranging from 12 - 16 hours depending on what's being filmed and how essential their character is to the plot. also, if the story requires day and night shoots and the budget and/or schedule and doesn't account for an assistant director or additional units the director has to be there for that.
so much of sharp objects occurs at night that i'm also surprised that he was shooting 9-6.
I watched escape from dannemora the other day and I have no idea how it got the nominations it did. They took a story that's pretty interesting and made it so incredibly boring.
i agree. i thought the story was wild and wouldn't have believed it if it wasn't unfolding live across media. when i saw the trailer for this series it looked like a chore to slog through and the focus wasn't on the escape, but the interpersonal drama between the protagonists which i give absolutely zero fucks about.
these kind of shows used to be my crack, but now that they're dragging them out in clips for weeks then releasing the full clip I really can't find the desire to watch it. it's really having the opposite of the really fucking obvious effect they're trying to illicit. fuck that.

Vallée should've been skewered - and frankly, not invited to this roundtable.
