she wasn't really built for it either since her childhood was super rocky.
i know we didn't have this bullshit when we were teens, but i feel like kids today that are coming into the platform might be smarter and know how to use it better and not care so much.
plus im sure something equally as stupid and horrible is on the horizon to change all this

Social media can be a great tool but it get tricky so I understand where she’s coming from. I remember watching a video review of some game I was thinking about buying and all of a sudden the guy started making these random comments about not liking “sjw-ness” in games or something. It was so weird because it just came out of no where.

You can’t really block out things like that so I guess the best thing is just keep your kid educated and hope for the best

And the best is all she can do. I understand it's just another responsibility for parents, but having your children actively shun it won't prepare them for the impact social media has either.

because a lot of the time it promotes a superficial and unrealistic lifestyle.

I work with kids/teens and they really measure their self-worth by how popular they're on it. it really fucks with their body image and puts a lot of pressure on them to always appear busy/happy. it's also crawling with pedophiles.

I'm not saying it's all bad, but it does way more harm than good imo.

I’m your age and am always eternally grateful that social media as it is now did not exist in my formative years
