I really liked the movie but ngl the parts I didn't like were how it seemed to be trying really hard to set itself up as a franchise/TV show. So this is zero percent surprising but also kind of exhausting. I wish movies were just allowed to be movies and not everything had to be recycled a million times.

hmm at the la la land producer and his "blue-eyed" wife writing this. I watched the clip of La La Land winning and then losing the Oscar to Moonlight too many times to not recognize that name.

Are you saying the people who made the movie shouldn’t make the tv show.

JORDAN HOROWITZ:
Thank you. Thank you all. Thank you to the academy. Thank you to Lionsgate. Thank you to our incredible cast and crew who are all up here right now. Thank you to Jamie Feldman, to Gary Gilbert. Thank you to my parents for supporting my choice to pursue a career in the arts even though it was a little bit crazy. Arthur Horowitz, you are my fantasy baby. And to my kind, generous, talented, beautiful, blue-eyed wife and creative partner, Julia Hart, you have inspired me to become the man I am right now - and more importantly, the man I’m still becoming. There’s a lot of love in this room, and let’s use it to create and champion bold and diverse work - work that inspires us towards joy, towards hope and towards empathy.

I still need to watch the movie, but I doubt I'd watch the series since I've never bothered with the show version of a movie I've previously seen.

Yay!! I got to see this movie with Hart and Horowitz and I loveddd it. Def not what I was expecting but fell for it all the same. They mentioned they were still considering a tv option so I'm glad it happened!
