I'm mostly fine with how it wrapped up except for the fact we heard form nearly everyone except [SPOILERS!]Bennett, Matt McGory's character. Like how could you leave us hanging after all this time?!
this season made me love it like i did back in season 1 so i really enjoyed it. i didn't watch much of seasons 4-6. i'm happy it had a strong final season, this show really positively affected tv and pop culture imo.
i totally think you can. if you feel lost just google the plot lines you missed. it's mostly the same core characters from s1 that are the focus of this season so i found it easy to get invested in what's happening with them in their final season.
[Spoiler (click to open)]The final season was the best since season one and honestly.... maybe even better?
Was it perfect? No. (still can’t stand Piper and Alex together).
But the ICE storyline was really well done. And a lot of the stuff inside Max was also really good.
The ending wasn’t happy, exactly. They were never going to fix the system. A piece of shit ended up as warden. Taystee is still imprisoned for a crime she did not commit. Red and Lorna will never be ok.
But there was still some slight hope. Taystee found a way to survive. Gloria is getting her life back. There is hope for Cindy on the outside. Blanca got a happy ending.
So there was individual glimmers of hope while overall it was recognized that the status quo was not going to change and our prison system cares more about profits than trying to help the women in their care.
[Spoiler (click to open)]Yeah, I get why they chose to end things the way they did. It would be unrealistic to fix everything. But man, did so many characters have to have such horrific ends? Karla likely dying in the desert, Maritza deported, Doggett DEAD, Red and Lorna ghostly shells of themselves? And nothing bad happens to Linda? I was waiting for Big Boo to get some kind of revenge. And then the cliff hanger with Daya. I don't personally think she's dead, but whoooo knoooows. Aleida was the worst, too. OH WELL LOL.
they had to have some shitty people prevail and some good people not get their happy ending. had to keep it realistic, i felt. i don't think daya is dead but her and her mom def gonna kill each other in there lol they're like the sister from last season. they're gonna each run a whole half of the prison and then end up killing each other when they're like 20 years older.
I'm only three episodes in, but did they seriously [Spoiler (click to open)]kill Daddy after one episode?! OFF-SCREEN?!?! wtfffffff. Did Vicci Martinez have another project or something? I'm pressed. Also, Daya and Aleida both remain terrible.
