I don't think she's the greatest of actors, or has that much range (she tends to play herself to some extent) buuuuut when she's good she's good.

I think her strong suit were the comedies like Legally Blonde or Sweet Home Alabama. Her post-oscar roles were kinda meh for me.

From Cruel Intentions to Legally Blonde to Walk the Line to Wild to BLL seems like a good range to me. Drama, comedy, musicals and I think those were different characters. She does have a strong personality on her own and maybe that comes through, but she's still a good actress.

I actually didn't think she was all that great in walk the line. It was Reese with brunette hair. Her post-oscar stuff have been good movies but the performances are not like wow to me personally.

She does good in BLL because that character doesn't seem all that off from natural personality.

I was kinda lol-ing at Madeline being snippy at Ed lunching with Bonnie and him not telling her what was being discussed.

Renata Klein took me out this episode. Laura Dern is a fucking artist lmao. The scene between her and the principal was top notch acting on both ends.

Also the episodes are feeling kind of short but I also feel like the plot isn't really moving along much right now. Pacing is off.

The episode was only 45 minutes, I was complaining throughout the ending credits.

I think the season is struggling without a bookend at the beginning. Like going into season 1 we knew there was a dead person, and that all the women were connected in some way. This season’s “tension” can get boring really fast without knowing what we’re propelling towards.
