Eeks I wish him the best.

I've had surgery on my ankle and it was an ordeal. The pain is worse than, say knee surgery (I've had that too). I had to stay completely off of it for a week, then ankle boot plus crutches ( looked similar to this ) combined with 6 weeks of p/t and then I think it took me about 12 weeks for full recovery. I've always been active and athletic so that actually helped but I truly don't want to ever go through that again. I wonder what happened that caused his injury?

yeah, even with the best doctors in the world I think the two week time frame for recovery seems optimistic at best. I'm sure he's in great shape, but your body can only heal itself so fast!

My experience is similar to yours and this two week time frame seems fishy to me, unless it's really minor surgery and I don't know of any really minor ankle surgery. Even if it's just reattaching ligaments or doing something with scar tissue, he should need more recovery time than that.

I have a friend who recently needed to have her Achilles tendon lengthened and recovery was incredibly painful. This was her third surgery following a broken ankle and she recovered from the first two relatively easily but this was horrific.
