Japan, do not bend the knee to the yts. Slurp in their pasty faces! Threaten them with soy sauce and msg!

What a ridiculous thing to be annoyed about. Like why even travel there then?

I'm Chinese American so yes I'm pro-slurp.

So if I have Misophonia, am I still being ridiculous?

I can't stand the sound of people plopping but I am okay with "slurping". In japan its part of their culture and shows respect to the chef who prepared the food.

Unless you're in Japan, a Japanese restuarant thats frequented by Japanese people, you really won't encounter "slurping"

So in conclusion like the tourists complaining about this: Stay away from asian Establishments or countries if you can't deal with their "customs"

Not ridiculous, but if it bothers you that much just distance yourself from whatever sound it is that's upsetting you?

There are a number of sounds I just can't stand (starting with burping, it makes me sick lol) but what can you do? Go around policing people on inane things like slurping or burping?

I respect your stance... I once went to a ramen shop with someone who has misophonia. He flipped out because of the slurping (and yes, he knows that people slurp when they eat ramen) and was belligerent the rest of the evening because everyone should have to eat quietly due to his misophonia.

tbh if people are really gonna be annoyed with something as harmless as this, then they should just go to Epcot Center or something.

I mean, slurping IS a disgusting sound... but they're noodles, that's how it's gonna sound when you eat them lol.

the ONLY reason i don't slurp my ramen is because i wear glasses and the broth flecks onto them.
