This is not related to veganism but I decided to give up sweets and alcohol this month and I’m already jonesing for a cookie, how sad.

Thanks bb. ❤️ In a way this is easier than just limiting because it’s just a “no” instead of a “well, maybe a little” that turns into a lot every single time lol. And it’s temporary so hopefully I won’t get resentful. 😂

I’m trying to be more eco-friendly. I buy way too many things in packaging. Even though I recycle it, I still need to buy some produce mesh bags/some reusable grocery bags.

Yup! Not to mention, I don't have to trash pick up so I have to haul everything so it's really started to drive me nuts.

We really do. My local grocery has started selling heads of broccoli wrapped in plastic, why??

My mom constantly reuses glass jars from stuff we buy which both drives me crazy sometimes when I want salsa and it’s NOT salsa but also it’s very clever. She also used Pedialyte bottles to store beans, and buys mason jars from a goodwill (before they got expensive) and sanitizes them in boiling water and vinegar

I am jealous of the beautiful all-my-jars-match aesthetic though

We used reuse the butter plastic bowls for cereal growing up. It made a lot of sense. Perfect size and sturdy.

My mom keeps the labels on which is very confusing and that’s what frustrates me! When I have my own home I will also save glass jars but will label them correctly!

we try to make as little waste as possible in our house

we recycle almost everything we can (we turn cans & bottles in at the local supermarket for money, it's usually enough to buy a few sweets)

in Sweden we separate our garbage (food trash in one bin, trash trash in another) and there are rules about what can go in which trash -- after living here for a few years, whenever I go home to the US I think it's weird to throw banana peels on top of like, milk cartons

We have the same thing in my city. We have trash, recycling and compost, and they give out guides to show what goes where. Because it's confusing sometimes.

My old town would only take a few things for recycling, and you had to leave them out in your own paper bags each week. We later found out they weren't even recycling anything, they just took it all to the dump, so we stopped bothering. I was so happy when I moved to my new city and found out they take literally everything, and things you can't leave for them to pick up, you can take to their recycling center. Even kitchen oil and some building materials. They recently handed out three separate 95 gallon containers for trash, recycling, and compost. It's SO nice.
