Yeah I've always appreciated how critical she is of men. I think my favorite sketch of hers is the one with the goggles that show you what a guy "needs from you".

that's like the only thing likeable about her. she is too backhanded when it comes to race jokes

True. She's super gross about race issues tbh.

how does someone go about getting tested for autism in adults, i've only ever heard it being done for kids and my mother would neverrrr have even dreamt up the possibility of me getting tested to confirm her fears but i've always wondered ( ... )

Me too! I’ve always thought there has to be a reason I’m so so socially awkward and different from everyone else. I feel like I need a diagnosis of something.

Same. I just can't relate to people. I know I have ocd despite not being diagnosed by a doctor but they concurred with me ig since I would spend 15 minutes of their time and come out with pills for it. I know there must be something going on that would explain the many things I deal with on a daily basis.

Hi! I'm an almost-licensed psychologist who can test for autism spectrum disorder from age 12 months+. If you want to get tested, you'll have to find a psychologist (or supervised psychological assistant) with experience in this area. It's pretty nuanced, and you definitely want someone who has seen multiple different presentations, e.g. males and females, LGBTQ+, etc. I always do a comprehensive battery regardless of age, and never use just one screener or test to diagnose. DM me if you have any other questions about how to find the right person!

I’m sorry bb, I deleted my comment because I definitely don’t want to be insensitive or flippant. I spent the afternoon arguing with an anti-vaxxer friend of a friend so I was riled up, but I definitely didn’t mean to offend. <3

Don't use functioning labels to describe someone with autism.

I just did a quick skim of this because I don't have the spoons to explain myself rn or look up something better, but this is a decent start.
