- Last december Tumblr decided to ban porn against suggestions. People praised the initiative to end pedophilia but banning every single kind of nude is not the answer.

I wish there was. Anime twitter annoys the hell out of me and that’s all I’m there for anymore.

It’s basically all twitter and the youths are taking over Instagram with their stan stuff. There really isn’t anything like tumblr that has managed to launch as well (like peach and pillowfort)

I'll stick with Tumblr because I like the photo format and I'm in a (very niche) gaming fandom that requires lots of photos, and guides. Speaking from that perspective, I haven't noticed a huge slow down but just browsing my dashboard lately has been really boring. I'll probably stick around, but I'm also on Twitter now for that gaming fandom and it's much more interactive and I'm reaching a bigger audience.

I'm still on there but I definitely have noticed a loss in traffic and that posts no longer get nearly as many likes and reblogs as they used to.

It sucks, I love it as a way of sharing images, but their algorithm is legitimately shitty. Also I hate that they've banned nipples even in a non sexual context (and I've still seen plenty of porn since the ban).

the only porn i ever randomly came across is those weird manips of actors/actresses that pop up (sometimes not even under the right tag) and thankfully those disappeared but I still don't quite understand how porn randomly pops up for people

It doesn't randomly pop up for me, someone I follow posts like... arty porn. Like total nudity and sexual acts but photographed really prettily. I don't particularly like it but they're not an exclusive porn blog and I like a lot of their other stuff so I keep following them. Also every time I see their art porn on my dash I realize that the algorithm is still messed up so it's kind of usual to keep track of that way.

I am genuinely surprised by how dead it is. Like, we always talk about leaving websites who pull shit like this and then never do, but man, it is a ghost town. Surprisingly, I STILL see porn on my dash and get porn bots though!

a lot of people (like me) were forced to leave b/c our blogs were marked as adult, when they aren't. made it really difficult to use.

you can always appeal if your blog is marked as an adult. I had to do that recently.

I've been teetering my usage but once they changed the blue background, I was out since it was so ugly.

There's an xkit extension that changes it to the normal blue if you ever find yourself wanting to go back to tumblr

I have it but everytime I go to another part of the website, I still see that awful blue for a second before it switches back and it's still enough to detest me.
