What does nudity have to do with LGTBQ people? 🤔

Nothing but the site often targeted LGBTQ+ content as if it was adult

No idea, but LGBTQIA material was frequently flagged as NSFW or flagged even if there wasn't any nudity or porn.

I was not even on Tumblr because of porn, but that place is so empty by now, why even bother?

Same, I didn’t even know porn was such a big thing on tumblr, but I stopped using it like a year ago.

Yeah. People saying the ban killed Tumblr are out of touch... that place has been a legit ghost town since at least 2015ish. Tumblr didn't do enough upkeep and innovating to attract people like other SM companies did so people stop being as active.

So is porn the only reason people were still using it? I know they were flagging other posts but why does that really matter if they flag something you posted a year ago?

I think part of the issue is your blog getting marked as adult, like with the pixelated icons.

if your blog gets marked as nsfw, it is hidden from search results and is much harder to find. a lot of artists are on tumblr, pretty much everyone got flagged randomly, and if you don't take care of it your posts and blog get hidden.
