I keep forgetting that they really released this movie. All I saw from Amma Asante was Belle (which I actually enjoyed) so I had no idea she had a swirl obsession lmao.

Yeah, Belle was great. The director is married to a white guy but I'm sure her obsession with the white gaze and interracial romances started WAY before she got behind a camera.
