i’ve always hated Toto’s Africa and everyone always thinks I’d love it ugh. Also Pompeii from Bastille, I adore every other song of theirs except that obnoxious chant
I don't hate Pompeii but Bastille is my favourite band so that song is not one of my faves and definitely has become liked less by me because how it got so much radioplay (and yeah, the chant starts to grate).
It's just really hard to enjoy now. Also, UR So Gay, but that one even back then, I knew was kinda messed up.
I've also always felt mixed about enjoying Britney's Slave for You.
Gold Digger is another messed up song, but it always makes me nostalgic because they played it during running in P.E. It immediately brings me back to running with my new friends in late summer Sacramento. I didn't know about MySpace then, so when I needed up moving, we just exchanged emails, but then we ended up never talking, so this is like the only thing that makes me feel ~connected to that time in my life.
