I’m finishing up the bone witch and I’ve got the other two books for the series in my wishlist. I’ll be jumping to It after this, I think. I missed reading so much I can’t believe my ass neglected it and I let my undergrad take my love of reading away
I would! It’s a fantastic read and the writing is just beautiful. It is in first person, but it isn’t as flowery as The Song of Achilles in terms of writing (which was the last book I read).
The characters are wonderfully written and I wish they’d make a movie/mini series out of this book. Fox, the brother, might be my favorite character so far.
Oooooo Paperbacks From Hell sounds super interesting.
So I finished up Becoming by Michelle Obama recently and it’s a 100/10 for me. I listened to the audiobook and it made me cry but there were also a lot of times I couldn’t stop laughing. I really cannot recommend it enough.
I’m finished up Kindred for school tonight and then I think I’m gonna start A Winters Promise and I’m gonna start the audiobook for Flame in the Mist.
Also I went to my local bookstore yesterday to celebrate a late small business Saturday and picked up two Brandon Sanderson books (Elantris and Mistborn), Never Caught, Annotated (new and expanded!) Pride & Prejudice (because owning 10 copies of it wasn’t enough), Renegades, Bone Witch and a signed copy of There There (gonna donate my not signed copy cause I think everyone should read it)!
Same ;_; I listened to the audiobook on scribd but I’m gonna need to buy it on audible or get a physical copy or both so I can always have it around lol. There were so many sad parts but there were also so many uplifting moments that I just want to have it around for days I need a reminder lol.
I think the only 2017 award winner I read this year was Bear Town which I'd recommend to literally everyone because it was amazing. I got frustrated with Backman's writing style at the beginning but by halfway I was crying all over the pages.
I haven't been good at keeping with the themed reading challenge since my reading is kind of predicated on what library holds fill when or what books people toss me. I'm working through Emily Wilson's translation of The Odyssey right now, and will be picking up The Overstory soon.
