Just letting y’all know this ain’t Gina Rodriguez’s first time speaking over a Black women and tryna essentially All lives matter shit. All she cares about are highlighting and empowering white and mestizx Latinx women - all i want for christmas is a job (@lareinanegraa) September 27, 2018

Everytime I see Gina Rodriguez’s name in the news, I’m reminded about how that lingerie brand she’s a co-owner of tried to take credit for introducing multiple shades of nude into the lingerie market.

The AtlantaBlackStar article should be included. Speaking admirably about Christopher Columbus and colonialism as an ideal superhero film setting is problematic. Calling colonialism the “migration of Spaniards” is white-washing and PURELY anti-Black.
The fuck? That's not just Anti-Black (which is disgusting enough), that's also straight up self hate. I am so sick of Latinos who are like this and constantly kiss the asses of our colonial masters.
That last one, though, I don't agree with as an example of her clearly innate anti-blackness. I really do feel like she was just trying to point out pay disparity and was likely just pointing out that latinos/latinas make less than everyone else.
She should just focus solely on talking about her own struggles instead of constantly pulling up comparisons, because it just highlights her racism.
Yeah, she's just OK. I fought watching JTV for so long for various reasons, but finally caved because of all the praise, and then I watched it and I was not praised especially not impressed by her. I've seen her in a few other things and she is equally unimpressive. So heffa doesn't even have acting or charisma to back up this nastiness.
