I can't say whether or not I agree with these choices until I see the movies, but I want that to be now! Ugh, is it October yet?

Crossing my fingers for no category fraud re: Green Book and The Favourite, I hate it so much.

There was a SAG only screening/Q&A of Beautiful Boy in LA last night... I have never been more pressed about not being an actor.

I've seen clips on twitter of standing ovations for the actors and some positive comments from people that were there. The Q&A part is on youtube, have you seen it?

Yeah, I saw those tweets, and saw that someone uploaded it, which is awesome. But I'm not gonna watch it until after I see the movie.

poor glenn, it feels like all her early buzz is gone. although she is long overdue (and oscar voters love that narrative), she seems to be in a especially packed race this year. i think i read that sony pushed the wife's release back from 2017 to avoid competition too, lol.

sis... in the post:

"Same with 'The Favourite and its three stars Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz, which is why they're missing from the list above (as in, who will be put for lead, and who'll be supporting)."

Supporting actor is looking very bleak this year

They were all fine, but nothing outstanding. And the film was all over the place. The last scene where they entrap that racist cop in the diner played like an over-the-top sitcom. I thought for sure it must be a ridiculous dream sequence. Totally at odds with other scenes.
