The ending of Big Love was pretty terrible

Even though I didn’t watch HIMYM by the time the show ended, even I was mad as hell at the finale. It made me feel like I wasted my life watching the first 6 seasons.

I sat through that last season which was like 24 hours of wedding dragged out into a whole season, only to find out that after all that Barney and Robin get divorced so Robin could be with Widow Ted. It was terrible, and I was so so mad -it made the Dexter finale look amazing in comparison.

One of the, many MANY, things wrong with the HIMYM finale, is that it makes the show unwatchable to me. Like I can't just rewatch earlier seasons, and pretend the last season (or last seasons) la la la, didn't exist, la la la, like Veronica Mars or That 70s Show.

Like it made it so that every single thing was tainted by the finale, because everything is supposedly made okay by the Mother, and working towards that...but psych! not really. feh.

And what's worse is they found an actress who was a really good fit for the Mother, which given everything that was building up to her appearance, was not an easy thing to do. And I think she had really good chem with Josh Radnor. So they did such a good job there...and then willfully fucked it all up so they could stick with the original ending they had 7 seasons later. The show literally did not care what they had showed us in the meantime. They were going to ignore it all for their M. Night "The Happening" levels of bad, twist.

I was going to say the same thing. It was rushed and just terrible. The quality of the show was all over the place in the last couple of seasons so I should've seen it coming, but I really expected more.

It's SO consistently good! One of the all time great shows that sadly was barely recognized by awards.
