Also whats the point?
Are we supposed to be mad at them for not knowing?
Are we supposed to feel superior for knowing things that they don't know about?

i've long accepted that i'm a musical philistine, pm the only time i'm ~introduced to new music is via tv/movies. one of the few exceptions was when i listened to taylor swift's new music bc i got caught up with ontd's hype over the leak lmao. but otherwise i'm like the definition of 'you're killing me smalls' when it comes to music tbh

i just got back from seeing lady bird, lyricalharmony had told me to go see it bc she thought i'd find the soundtrack v relatable (since i was around lady bird's age back then)... but i didn't recognize any of the music and someone else had to tell me that cry me a river was in the movie bc i'd never actually heard the song before.
