it's like hunamn goes from set to set wearing the same clothes and has people make minor alterations.

You can ask the same question about Garrett Hedlund, Nick Hoult, Liam Hemsworth... they get chance after chance even though their movies are critical and box office failures.

The next movie Hunnam is attached to co-stars Hedlund and Mark Walberg. Why???

The best reviews Hunnam ever received were for The Lost City of Z, and that's because James Gray is a tremendous director.

Yay for Rami getting more movie roles but why do studio execs insist on remaking such amazing classics?

This isn't a studio film, it's an indie and it doesn't have US distribution, which is why it's going to TIFF, looking for distribution.

To answer your question, they remake films because there is less risk attached (as opposed to using original material). Most producers try to reduce the amount of risk, and it's easier to remake or make a sequel than it is to try something new. For studios, everyone is afraid of losing their job, so they play it safe for the most part. It's easier to market something the audience is aware of than try to introduce them to something unknown. It's stupid, but that's the way they think.
