God this was so true when I was in high school. I legitimately thought I was a lesbian because there were no attractive guys in my school. Years later, looking at my yearbook, I wasn't gay, there just genuinely were zero attractive guys in my school. Yet the vast majority of girls were stunning. Like so pretty that several were working as models.
