MTE. I just saw a headline about a man who fired 33 bullets into a woman's house because she turned him down. Guns aren't necessary at all imo.

Will this sit in change anything? I haven't been following bc I have no hope for our govt.

Probably not. The only way this shit is going to change is if we vote in a democratic majority into congress this November.

Not really. The only way to produce a change is to vote during the Senate and HoR election which sadly most people skip. It is a considerably more important election that the presidential election and yet people do not seem to care. And later they will bitch about their state representatives.

over 400 congressional seats (both house and senate) are up for the general election this year, so if they turn out to vote for president they should likely vote for those positions as well. there is a chance we could at least make the dem/GOP divide less one-sided as long as we as voters don't get complacent.

I came across a decent gun control bill suggested by the Repubic Lices (much to my surprise). And then I saw the additional provision tacked on there and I realized why people voted Nay for it.

Did you see grassley's amendment that would have granted people under involuntary psychiatric hold the right to purchase firearms immediately after release? 61% of gun deaths are by suicide and this fucker wants to put guns in the hands of mentally ill people?

I read about it. It just came off as another way of weakening the gun control. Let's increase funding to background checks but at the same time let us gut the minimal gun control policy we have in place.
