It's so silly of me, but I'm still hoping this is all a ruse. Remember a couple of episodes Root was planning something with The Machine regarding that missile base in Europe(?) with that guy she saved as a ballerina? I'm wondering if there's still something more to that...but I'm just in full-on-denial-mode. Same with how I felt regarding Arrow and a certain death there.

Why do I do this to myself?

[Spoiler (click to open)]It is nice to see three previous numbers come back to help Team Machine. LOL at them getting Amy's husband back after her character died.
Hearing Root's voice as The Machine's is creepy.

So should we have a live discussion post for the series finale?

Still love the show but it's def been a bit ruined for me now after Root's death :( Her death just seems so pointless and I still have a lot of questions.

Also, I got kind of irritated that the machine called Root Samantha Groves, but I'm hoping that was more for Finch's benefit and familiarity.

Still, I did enjoy that they're giving respect to how Shaw is grieving. Her speech kind of broke my heart =/

Yes Shaw's speech was good and felt right.

The Samantha drop bothered me quite a bit, I assume too it was to ground Finch but it would have been easy to switch and I felt sad she's not around to correct it.
