You don't fill the void of Alan Rickman. You waited too long for a sequel. Move on

Exactly what I was coming in here to say. They missed their window, there's no point in even trying to fill Alan Rickman's shoes.

I miss him. Almost Human was a gift. :(

His career (or lack thereof) lately makes me sad. I guess there's always the new Star Trek, but ugh.

Did it really need one?

Speaking of Alan Rickman, has anyone seen Eye in the Sky yet? I was originally going to see Batman vs. Superman with my mom, but the bad word of mouth turned her off and she doesn't want to go anymore. So I'm thinking of taking her to see that instead.

That's good to hear! My mom has a cold right now, so hopefully she'll be well enough to go while it's still in theaters. I think it's only playing in one here. And sadly, it's not the one where I have a free ticket and free popcorn voucher, lol.

Galaxy Quest didn't need a sequel anyway. However, I wouldn't be upset about it being rebooted in about five years - if they were satirizing the current flow of comic movies rather than the original's Star Trek references. (And hell, they could STILL bring Sam Rockwell in given Iron Man 2.)

Maybe the plot could have been that sci-fi shows are losing public interest now in the wake of superhero movies. Frame the film around that and bring back the Thermians somehow.

This is one time where they should give up and surrender. A sequel is unneeded
