That's absolutely amazing! Good Master - and mostly thanks to Jack, who apparently has a positive effect on him and even causes the drums to subside, it seems logical-as far as I remember it was what made him insane, and-as a result-evil. I hope it stays this way. I can’t wait to see them meeting the Doctor.
This is the first story where I like Master more than the Doctor. I think, I wouldn't even mind seeing Jack having his revenge. Although, for the Doctor, finding out what he's responsible for, it will be quite a big punishment itself. All he had to do was to take Jack somewhere safe, nothing more, and now he destroyed his life, and his daughter's; even if he couldn't have known that, he should have thought twice before leaving Jack alone on the empty satellite only because he couldn’t stand to be near him even for a few minutes.

Thank you. I hope I am making the Master realistic as a non psycho.

They will meet the Doctor next chapter.

Given how easy it seemed for the Doctor to be near Jack on Malcassairo, he should indeed have pushed aside his revulsion and taken him from Satellite 5 to safety. Even if he couldn't do it before he regenerated I always thought the first thing he should have done when he was better was go back.

I have to agree with Maya, this is the first time we've seen the Master as having relatively good notions, although he really still wants to treat Jack as a sex toy, and I suppose there would have to be periods of insanity for Jack. No timelines where the baby lives-that's so sad.

There is certainly an element of the sex toy, but I don't think that is the whole story, with the Master. Since he decided to go for a proper relationship he has tried to help Jack e.g. by trying to fix him. That was purely altruistic and would actually have damaged their sex life.

Love the twist of the Master becoming almost... Normal? Well, for him anyway. I guess if anyone could do it, it'd be Jack. Even if it is largely done for the mind-blowing sex, that's a reason Jack, even at his best, probably wouldn't have a problem with. ;)

The rest is so dark (deliciously so!) though... I hope Jack is able to put his daughter to rest and get some respite for his grief soon!

I hope I'm not being too OOC with the Master. I've written him as sadistic and psycho in other stories and am aiming for completely different here. Evil but not insane. And evil people can have friends and lovers. Mind blowing sex started them off, but he is aiming for more.

You will find out soon. There's only one more main chapter, then an epilogue. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Wow

I am absolutely loving this! And you've actually made me like the master as a person. Can't wait to see where you take this and how the doctor reacts.

Thank you.

I've chosen the Master to be closer to how he was in the old series. Evil but not psycho, so he is capable of friendship when he decides to do that.

They will meet up with the Doctor next chapter.

Thank you.

The Master has certainly behaved better towards Jack than the Doctor did. And, as you say, they are good for each other.
