Jun 01, 2011 16:33

Hi all.
I just wanted to talk to you guys about the region code and type of the European release of YFC DVD/CD, since it is such a great deal that many people outside Europe may try to get a copy now instead of the expensive Japanese versions.

Someone recently PMed this message:

I haven't a clue about the PAL or NTSC thing, all I know is about regions, and that I have one PAL DVD (Grease, booyeah) and that plays fine on my PC and DVD player (I'm in Europe, btw), and all of my GACKT DVDs are NTSC and they play fine on my PC and in my DVD player, too. Don't know if that helps at all :/

But, OMG, I want this CD+DVD combo so bad \*_*/ *grabby hands* Wish I had the money :( Monetary funds, why does GACKT make you deplete at such an alarming rate?

As far as I know it depends on the region Code, you can only watch it, if you have a region code 2 DVD player or a region code all DVD player. And I think the Europe DVD will be region 2 and PAL, because every Europe DVD is region 2 and PAL, at least in Germany, so it doesn´t matter if it´s PAL or NTSC, because it depends all on the region code. So I think it won´t work on other DVD players, but I think you can change the region code on the computer, so you can watch it there, at least this works with a region code 3 DVD I was watching...but maybe you are lucky and it still works^^

I didn't check on DVD player but I have NTSC and region 3 DVD and there is no problem in playing it on PC. So there should't be any problems other way ^^

Thanks for the comment. ^^

VLC doesn't play all regions anymore. It doesn't play my Japanese version of the documentary DVD, for example. I had to change the region code on my computer's DVD player to 2 to watch it.

I thought that was just with the MAC version? @_@
I should update mine and see if it'll still play the Nemuri DVD to test that (which isn't free region, right?).... hmmm

Oh, yes yes.
Apparently PCs are still OK there, huh?
(I don't know, I don't have Nemuri DVD... @_@)
