The door bounced back on its hinges and Mohinder dropped his bag just inside the apartment. He'd pulled open several drawers and cupboards in the kitchen puting together the essentials - coffee, sugar and a loaf of bread that had probably seen better days. Several of them.

Picking up his cell phone - five new messages, really? - he listened, mouthful of toast crackling. Words like obligation and responsibilities and you do know what you signed up for, doctor were really quite frequent and Mohinder hurriedly made a couple of calls.

"Yes. Yes, I do know that." Pause. "It wasn't my intention that-"

Apparently that wasn't of importance, Mohinder gathered, as he made notes of the rest of the conversation. The Company was a considerate employer - they'd told him so often themselves - but that did mean they needed his cooperation. More specifically, his cooperation and his self were needed in Hartsdale. "Just to start with."

"There won't be any need to send a car," said Mohinder, wanting company and island to stay as distant as possible. "I can make my own way there." Another pause. "Yes, as soon as possible."

He ended the call snd looked at the half-eaten remains of breakfast. Right, coffee first, packing second.

[Should've been posted last night, but open if you want to catch Mohinder before he goes home for the summer term canon catch-up]
