Supernatural episode 3.11

Now I finally have more than a few minutes access to the computer I can write up a few thoughts.

3.11 Memory Spot (was originally scheduled as 3.12)

Guh!  And a little more guh!   And, what's that?  Guh!

This episode pretty much wrecked me.   There's not really much else to say is there?  The producers put us in the position of feeling what Sam feels ( Read more... )

Thanks for speaking for my brain, too.

And a very lovely brain it is. *pets your thinky brain*

As for the Trickster ... wow, he is a connundrum, ain't he? I can't imagine his game. One thing I do feel, though, until proven otherwise, is that he's not truly *evil*. He's not allied in any way with the demons or Hell's plans. He's way too self-absorbed and self-centered for that. All he wants is his little games and a world to play them in, pricking the bubbles of pompous, self-absorbed jerks. Pot, kettle, yeah. ;-)

Yeah, not evil per se, though pretty damn nasty. I deliberately stayed away from commenting on the trickster because I don't know enough about the lore to understand the archetype. I've read a number of episode reviews that talked in some detail about him and boy has that stirred the pot, at least in my head.

What the Trickster failed to realise, though, I think, is that Dean is as much Sam's moral compass as Sam is Dean's. The two balance each other out, and Sam is far more OCD than Dean ever thought of being. Dean ( ... )

It's our brains together, bouncing off each other's ideas. Sparking, and cavorting and exploding all over the place.

ROTFL! Wow, what a party that must be! LOL! :-p

A lot of my shows have been killing off characters the last couple of seasons. At this point, it's pretty much lost all dramatic impact for me because the shows only use the death for shock value, then bring the character back in some way. I'm so inured to it by now that my first response to any character's death is to sit back patiently and wait to see how the writers bring the character back. I still felt sorry for Sam, though. He doesn't know that his brother is being played by an actor with a contract that ensures he'll survive until the end of the season.
