That whole S3 post-apocalyptic imagery of the "haves" and "have nots" with public school in such a wealthy area supposedly being such a compromise and a hardship was just another of the mega-contrivances that really annoyed me. While I can honestly say that I did go to private school and never attended public school, I had friends who did- both at the time and those I met in college, and they obviously received an education that prepared them for a very competitive and challenging environment
