Thanks to
charmax for the song!
Suddenly I can't stay in this room
You'll never sway, and I have nothing left that I can think of to say
What do you want me to think of my thought?
Bear it in mind, if I cannot believe in me who will I then be?
And so I'll run but not too far, in case you chase me, oh
But this is how it goes, baby
I'll get angry at your words and I'll go home
And you won't call after me cos I'll be back before you know, you know...
La di da di da
And so I'll run but not too far
Cos this is how it goes, baby
I'll get angry at your words and
I'll go home, then you won't call after me
Cos I'll be back before you know, you know...
Yeah, I'll be back before you know
and so I'll run but not too far
Notes
Vid in a nutshell
This storyline is my favourite in the whole series. I would have liked to see it reach its logical extension well into season 3, but the writers saw to that dream by completely slaughtering Ethan's character beyond recognition.
But for season 2 at least, it was pitched perfectly. It broke my heart because I felt so strongly for all three characters, and the source is some of the prettiest footage ever. This isn't so much a re-reading (or even a reading) than it is a pure expression of how much I loved this story arc.
Editing, etc.
This vid is a stopgap project and didn't take long - about four hours to lay down the timeline and another couple of hours to fix it up for distribution. Wanted to do something quite classic, with just straight cutting and speed/opacity changes where necessary. (Okay, I cheated a little - there was one added blur, but only to mimic source.) The source was already amazing with the wonderful camerawork and incredible lighting, so there was very little left that needed to be fiddled with.
