This is a quick follow-up to this entry. Turns out that the kid's mother is a photographer who wrote an open letter to the POTUS about the impact of his presidency on her son.

Huh, a white woman who gets it

And I'm not being disparaging at all, nor snarky or mean. I mean, she gets it. The fact that her experience won't be her son's lived experience and she's not defensive, but just loving, and hopes to give him as much tools as she can, but aware of the stuff that she can't, and yet open to capturing each step of the way with photographs and letting her art do what her intellect can't.

I'm impressed.
