[Iroh loves a holiday, whether he's familiar with it or not. He's spent the past few days researching different New Year's traditions and getting the Jasmine Dragon appropriately decked out. The idea of New Year's enchants him even more than the idea of Christmas. New beginnings are important...as is the opportunity to say goodbye to what is past.

[Iroh beams at his new guest.]

Thank you! I'm quite proud of them myself. Please, have a seat. What kind of tea can I get you?

And may I say, that is quite a scarf.

[Iroh draws himself up dramatically.]

Every tea in this house is special! But I do think my jasmine tea is particularly fine.

[He bustles off to get the Earl a pot and settles across from his new guest.]

The new year hasn't started yet, but I have high hopes that it will be good to me. And yourself?

[ Toph hadn't expected to be in this City long enough for a new year to turn over. But here she is. And if she has to miss the new year celebrations at home, she might as well spend them in a place she likes, with people she likes.

Which is a long way to say she's crashing the party here. Yo. ]

[Iroh looks up as Toph enters and smiles.]

Toph! What do you think of my decorations?

They're really pretty, Iroh. [ After a beat. ] Probably. [ She grins. ]

[Iroh blinks, then guffaws ruefully.]

Of course! Well then, you can take my word for it that they look marvelous. If I do say so myself. [re: tea] The usual?

[Is it the human New Year already? He remembers the celebrations for that back on the Citadel. Wonder what it would be like to experience it with Shepard? How he misses her.

He enters the tea shop for some relaxation. Hopefully they serve dextro-friendly tea here.]

[The tea shop is doing bustling business, which pleases Iroh to no end. He does love a good crowd and celebration. He gestures for the new arrival to take a seat as he finishes taking another customer's order, then hurries over.]

Happy New Year, good sir! What can I get for you?

I guess I'll try some mint tea.

One mint tea, coming right up!

[Iroh is back shortly with a small pot and a cup. He sets it down and then settles across from Garrus.]

I don't believe I've seen you around here before.

[ Cameron decided to spent New Year's here because she's not feeling like a big party, but she also refuses to spent the evening alone in her apartment. That would be too much like moping, but she misses her home and her friends and Jack. Some tea and quiet might help, so here she is. ]

[It may not be a big party, but the Jasmine Dragon is definitely bustling. Iroh wishes he had thought to ask people to bring instruments - this would be a perfect evening for music!

He beams at Cameron when she enters, though he isn't able to speak with her until he finishes with a particularly energetic customer.]

[ Cameron settles on a small table, crossing her legs and studying the menu before Iroh can come over. She surveys the crowd with a little smile. It's not exactly quiet, but that just means she's succeeding in not moping in her apartment. Cameron thrives on success. ]

Hi. [ She smiles at Iroh. ] I can't decide which tea I'd like, so I'm thinking of leaving the choice up to you. Surprise me?
