Hullo lovely people! Just a little note to say that all is (relatively) well. My apartment is currently stuffed to the gills with evacuees from other parts of the city, but so far everyone is getting along. Good to read everything is okay as far as you survived the storm, although I've seen the mass devatstion on the news! 14ft waves!

Thanks! Yeah, a lot of downtown NY is flooded from the waves and high tide, though we got barely any rain...actually, the sea water is causing a lot more trouble than rain would have, because the salt corrodes all the electric wiring and stuff. I thought the evacuation was overkill, but I'm really glad Bloomberg insisted on it. It would have been much much worse if people were still in the affected buildings...

We're having some pretty horrendous weather this side of the pond too. As I write, it is strong winds and torrential rain outside. Of course nothing on the same scale as the East Coast! The last real hurricane we had in Britain was Oct 1989. Keep warm, keep fed, stay safe! x
