grr. I am THIS CLOSE to giving up. Think it was too big a project to take up this month. i'm mad. grr.

I'm probably at the least depressing point in my life thus far, and yet everything I write always goes to "The Dark Place". Not quite sure why this is so. Everything I'm writing currently revolves around death or abuse or depression in general and I feel so far removed from it. Total word count = 6829. Better. I hit a stride today and went with it. I'm going to hold off posting any of it though because it's pretty dark and deals with some pretty sensitive subject matter. I feel like I've hit my groove though and hope to keep it up.

Progress today. I've added on another 1800 or so words. I desperately wanted 2000, but not desperate enough because I'm knocking off now and going to bed. If I can somehow increase my word count each day I may have a chance of catching up. We'll see. =)

So what? 4 hours now? 3.5? Not ready. Seeing as how I abandoned my first idea and picked up this new one, I haven't had much time to shift gears and hash it out before I begin. So, I'm keeping Ed (Dixie Greenwood) as a supporting character. Maybe the new MC will run in to him unexpectedly while he is decked out in drag. Leigh could be the MC's daughter, in which case we'll only see her character come in to play over the phone or maybe a lunch date.

Had dinner with my dad last night. He's been going through a bad time where he works and told me all about it. My wheels started turning and I think there's potential for a big story there. It's huge, at least 50K huge and I'm thinking I might shelve my other characters for the time being and begin on this instead.
