Welcome to the very first Original Fiction Big Bang!
Welcome aboard!
I had the idea for this when I realised I wanted to post something original I wrote for other people who are actually interested to read and comment on. I also realised that I haven't really got any sort of drive to complete something for that end, since no one tends to read or comment on my original fiction, and I reckon I'm not the only one that has that problem.
Add on the fact that I can spend many, many months slaving over an original piece just to have it receive no love, and yet a piece of fanfiction I wrote over the space of two or so months gets art? It's kinda annoying.
So I created this.
A collaboration between original writers and creative artists to create a piece of fiction that has a beginning, middle and end and has art to go along with it.
We are open to everyone, so obviously we require a little trust from the writers. To that end, we suggest starting a project especially for this challenge. Something you're not quite as attached to as that little sci-fi gem you've been adding a word here and there to for the past ten years...
We welcome all genres, ratings and ideas.

We have a few basic, obvious rules:
- No plagiarism. The first person that just copies Twilight into a first draft will be laughed off the stage.
- Do not steal from your fellow authors. Exchange hints and ideas, sure. Just don't steal.
- No fanfiction. I'm sorry. I really am. I love fanfiction as much as the next girl. But this is original. So; no fanfiction
- Your finished stories must be more than 20,000 words. I don't care if it's 20,000 with no breaks or with 20 chapters or even 60 chapters. Just make it 20,000 words or more.
- Don't post any of your story/novel/OF, whatever you want to call it, anywhere before your posting date. Ofc, your betas and cheerleaders can see it, but don't post it. That gets you disqualified.
- I respectfully request that anything you write can stand alone. Please don't write a sequel unless the original novel is available to read and can be linked back to on your master post or your story can be understood without reading the preceeding texts.
- No script-style writing. Maybe I'll make a script big bang or something one day, but at the moment we are novel-centric. As much as I like scripts and screenplays, novels is where we're at.
- We don't have a word limit. Just bear something in mind: if you write an epic 400,000 word novel (which, hey, I'm all for. I love epic stories) you may find it difficult to find a beta and/or artist who is willing to read that much of your writing.
- ALL STORIES MUST BE BETAED. If you want more information about why things need to be beta'd, feel free to email me, leave a comment or send me a message, I'll be happy to explain.
- Be polite, label well and enjoy yourselves!
