My mentor from my Master's work at Notre Dame, Professor John Cavadini, has just had his excellence recognized in a pair of distinctive ways, I just found out from a Notre Dame mailing. Not knowing the full context and whether it was said "tongue-in-cheek", I'll take the chance his comment was sincere, though maybe said in a moment of self doubt (who knows). What I really want to say is, I'm always struck by the humility of people (and this one obviously greatly respected and intelligent) who have the ability to recognize the greatness of others, even if it excells their own. Oh to have that kind of depth of character."
