Chad was scanning the place for Nadia when he noticed the door to Teddy's room open a crack. A crack was all he needed to be inspired to put off the search for a moment and knock to see if Teddy was feeling socialable at all.

Yes, he'd forgotten about the bunny ears again. Or, at least, he seemed pretty oblivious of them at the moment.
